Solar Energy Essay - 1384 Words
Solar energy is better for the environment than energy derived from other sources. Even though it is the most difficult source of energy to channel, solar energy can provide great amounts of resources for the environment as well as market venture, if proven effective. The fact that solar energy comes from the sun, makes it the most desired source of energy. Without solar energy, oxygen and food would be rare to find; mostly from the fact that the sun brings forth all life on planet Earth. The idea that the sun itself could be a cash cow has those from environmental engineers to scientists trying to find ways to harness its immense energy. Students from across the world as well as accountants use solar energy more than anyone else,â⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦The venture for solar energy first came into existence from Edmund Becquerel, a French physicist who observed and published findings about the nature of materials to turn light into energy but sadly they were not pursued, until thirty years later when Auguste Mouchout was the first man to patent a design for a motor running on solar energy. Charles Tellier, was also a Frenchman whose work in creating preserved foods through refrigeration, experimented with a non-concentrating/non-reflecting solar motor. He installed the first solar energy system for heating household water on top of his roof. Today, all across the world there is more focus in utilizing solar energy. As Becquerel, Mouchout and Teller were pioneers for advances in the past, modern day has its shares of crafty inventors. Recently, a group of environmentalist in Oregon, lead by Mark Dixon called ââ¬Å"Your Environmental Road Tripâ⬠(YERT), are building the first solar roadways, in which they plan in the future will span to all fifty states. Dixon and his crew by using solar energy to power highways are saving money for the state as well as the consumer. By using garbage from the local land fields to generate the durability of asphalt, s olar highways are able to sustain the pressures of vehicles with mass such as transferee trucks, while at the same time creating storage space for solar energy. In an interview regarding how did he plan to revolutionize highways using solar energy, Dixon stated, ââ¬Å"IfShow MoreRelatedThe Energy Of Solar Energy1687 Words à |à 7 Pagesanalyses of solar energy deployment contained in the Word Energy Outlook, Energy Technology Perspectives and several IEA Technology Roadmaps. The performance management process is a tool organizations use to align the mission and strategic goals with the employeeââ¬â¢s expectations. Furthermore, the process can groom employees to perform at their optimum potential (Schanie Kemper, 2008). There are six primary components of the performance management process that intertwine with each other; without one the system is not whole. Performance Management Process Components The six components of the performance management process are prerequisites, performance planning, performance execution, performance assessment, performance review, and performance renewal and recontracting (Aguinis, 2013, p. 38). Subcomponents of performance planning include results, behaviors, and development plan (Aguinis, 2013, p. 46). Additionally, subcategories of performance execution are employee responsibilities and supervisor responsibilities. Personal Paper on Euthanasia free essay sample
A life is ending. Losing a life is tragic enough within its own right. Euthanasia appears to be the best option for a patient. Though the family and patient have suffered immensely, they must continue to suffer mentally and physically through the passive euthanasia process. This particular patientââ¬â¢s death was tragic and slow. The body had broken down, and only a shadow of who the person once was laid in bed as the last breath was taken. If another form of euthanasia, called active euthanasia had been legal, a large amount of pain and suffering could have been spared. If passive euthanasia is legal, then active euthanasia should be legal too. Passive Euthanasia, is when a physician determines that death is unavoidably close, that rather than prolong suffering, to stop whatever treatment is keeping the patient alive. An example would be, if a person is being kept alive by a machine that breathes for them, a decision is made to turn off the machine, indirectly ending the personââ¬â¢s life. Often times, passive euthanasia can be performed on a conscious person. If a person is alive, but barely capable of living, a tube that feeds the patient is removed. This leads to the patient starving to death, which led to the patient dying in great pain. My father was diagnosed with terminal colo-rectal cancer, and instead of trying surgeries that would lengthen his life by a few months, he chose not to. My father was passively euthanized. He died a much different man that I have known my whole life. He, once a large burly man had lost around a hundred pounds, and was bedridden. All of his muscles were slowly disintegrating because of atrophy since he was unable to get out of bed. He was in major pain despite the medication he was given, and in the last month of his life the cancer had gone into the blood and to his brain, making him hallucinate,

Reaction Paper on Multiculturalism free essay sample
Multiculturalism, historically has been a source of conflict especially when cultural difference is used as a basis for determining who gets what, why and how. So it is good to give a definition: multiculturalism can at best be described as a broad set of mutually reinforcing approaches or methodologies concerning the incorporation and participation of immigrants and ethnic minorities and their modes of cultural and religious difference.Multiculturalism is not new, because countries have lived with several cultures, sometimes for centuries, and it was a way of living without problem. But there is a new question of multiculturalism which is clearly linked to recent migrations. The end of the colonial time, and the movement of population which followed, the globalization of the economy and increased movements of migrants, all this had many countries to think in terms of multiculturalism.Cultural differences do not and should not mean cultural battle. Multiculturalism does not mean: accept everything and teach nothing. We will write a custom essay sample on Reaction Paper on Multiculturalism or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page Multiculturalism means integration with respect. Multiculturalism is a way of living together peacefully. But this statement does not say how this is possible and on which issue we have to be careful, and which should be the policy of the state. Each country has to find its own system. Multiculturalism must be translated in practical measures. There is also the transformation of cultures themselves, which can be more or less open to multiculturalism. The religious factor is here very important in many contexts because of its relation to culture. It becomes a political issue, because it is linked to cultural identity, and sometimes to national identity. It often revolves around the question of separation of state and religion. This separation is an essential principle, but itââ¬â¢s not always practiced, and sometimes, it is even rejected. And when rejected, religion tends then to get more importance. Religion tends to become more fundamentalist in the face of social crisis or national frustration, which often makes multiculturalism impossible. When we talk of the ideal of multiculturalism in enabling social change, the question of leadership. Only when we factor in this historic process of the struggle for hegemony (and, by extension, for state power) among groups can we really begin a substantive discussion on the cognitive and pedagogical value of multiculturalism for third world societies where, in most cases, the violence of the neocolonial state often supervenes over a polymorp
